Émilia Florence McLean was born September 6th, 1990, in White Rock, British Columbia. As a child, Émilia loved poetry. She memorized “The Walrus and The Carpenter” by Lewis Carroll and other poems from “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” as well as “Through the Looking-Glass” and would recite them to friends and family. She started writing at the age of 10-11.
She started by writing little poems for school projects and then was so inspired that she would sit next to a rock under a tree at White Rock Elementary School and write short stories as well as poems and other works. This love affair with poetry continued in her journals and online throughout high school; she even got one of her works published in the school newspaper.
She continued writing throughout University until she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a minor in English Literature at the University of Ottawa.
